Reverend Dr. Shelvin Jerome Hall
Rev.
Hall retires as Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church after 51 years
of faithful service. His last sermon, "The Unfinished Song"
was preached on November 12, 2006. Rev. Hall continually
thanked Friendship for being the nicest folks.
Reverend Dr.
Shelvin Jerome Hall came to Friendship from Texas in the Fall of
1955 as the 7th Pastor of "The" Friendship Baptist Church of
Chicago. Pastor Hall's request was, "If I am to be
pastor, then let me pastor." Fifty-one (51) years later,
he still leads the Friendship Congregation. At age 90, he is
THE CAPTAIN OF OUR SHIP, FRIENDSHIP!

Reverend Hall,
is a dedicated servant of God. He has proven to be an astute
administrator, a renowned educator, a powerful advocate of the
Gospel. He and his wife, Mrs. Lucy Mae Hall, have been
models and mentors for numerous young couples. He praises God for
an active membership of approximately 500 members for his 51 years
as shepherd of the Friendship Baptist Church.
