ANN MILLER LEADERSHIP SCHOOL
Ann Miller Leadership School - History Friendship's first Certified Leadership School was conducted in 1959 with the assistance of Pastor Shelvin Jerome Hall and Mrs. Anna Patten, who served as the first Dean. Some of the members of the faculty included Mrs. Lucy Mae Hall, Mrs. Ruth Brisco and Mrs. Eddye Walker.
Pastor Hall realized that the Leadership School was a vital part of the Christian Education Ministry. He made the decision to offer courses each year in order to fulfill the needs of Friendship's members and others who desired to study.
In 1977, the Leadership School was named the Ann Miller Leadership School in honor of Mrs. Ann Lee Williams Miller. Mrs. Miller was a dedicated educator who believed in Sunday School, Leadership School and especially in Baptist Training Union. She was dedicated to Christian education.
The Ann Miller Leadership School is sponsored by the Department of Christian Education each year. Courses offered are taught by instructors certified by the Department of Christian Education of the Sunday School Publishing Board in Nashville, Tennessee. Each qualified attendee receives a course card which can be used towards the Certificate of Progress Program through the department of Christian Education in Nashville, TN. |
