12, 2007 - The Mother's Board held their 5th Annual Mother and
Daughter Tea at Friendship Baptist Church. The idea of the
Mother and Daughter Tea was conceived by Mrs. Lucy Mae Hall during a
Mother's Board meeting, and has been held for 5 consecutive years since
that time. Participants are given an opportunity to publicly
acknowledge their mothers and mother figures with a special tribute,
poem or song. During the program, President Josephine Morgan Brown announced that the
name of the annual tea has been officially renamed the Martha
Lockhart Mother and Daughter Tea. Six of Martha Lockhart's
children and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and relatives
were on hand to thank her for all that she has done in their lives.
She was flanked with roses and gifts. Congratulations, Mrs.
Lockhart!
